Lokisa Water Project

Lesotho is a fiercely independent kingdom, landlocked inside South Africa. It is a very mountainous place with an abundance of water. Sweeping views over these huge bodies of water is in contrast to a majority of the population struggling to access clean drinking water.

Lokisa means to repair, correct or fix (in Sesotho) and that is our vision: to repair existing water systems, correct access to clean, safe water and sanitation as well as to fix some of the underlying issues through education and advocacy.

Forestville Uniting Church supports the Lokisa Water project in Lesotho, Africa. Lokisa is an expression of God’s love for all, in a practical, meaningful way that has led to life changing situations for many schools and villages in the remote mountains of Lesotho. Lokisa aims to bring pure, drinkable water and access to toilets to as many schools and villages as possible. All the while bringing news of God’s love.
